There are several definitions available for mental health from the World health organization (WHO) to American psychological association (APA), from general medical websites to Google. 

Let’s start with WHO 

According to the WHO, mental health is “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”

On the other hand APA defines 

A state of mind characterized by emotional well-being, good behavioural adjustment, relative freedom from anxiety and disabling symptoms, and a capacity to establish constructive relationships and cope with the ordinary demands and stresses of life.  

And Google simply defines it as 

A person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being.

 

But what truly is mental health? Or to be precise what is to live with a relatively healthy mental state?  The answer lies within the experience of you, your thoughts and feelings, your attitude, your coping mechanisms to different situations etc.

Besides the above things mentioned, your mental health includes also your physical health and your social wellbeing. To see a person ‘s health as “Holism”;  It means, seeing the complete person, not just biological part but also considering psychological and social factors, as these parts share intimate interconnection amidst them as scientifically proven . 

It includes your inner world as well as how you are coping with your outer world. It is also not about excluding or negating your so called negative emotions likes of anger, sadness, jealousy etc. The Key lies in how one applies these emotions in their day to day life. 

Suppressing and Repressing negative emotions affect the body and thereby physical health. Your mental health not dealt appropriately, can spill over your physical health and thereby the entire being. Hence checking your mental health from time to time goes a long way to managing your health and wellbeing in truly a holistic way.

No two person’s mental health can be same at the given moment of time. Hence to define or measure mental health by just one glass of lens is difficult and restrictive. Your mental health state is yours. For instance, for one person a situation can be distressing and for another person the same situation can be a piece of cake. Hence mental state depends from person to person and their individualised perception of their life situations.

Knowing thyself is prerequisite to heal thyself. Knowing and acknowledging your thoughts, emotions, attitude, behaviour and coping mechanisms goes a long way to maintaining your health on all level.

Fundamentally an affirmation is a sentence which has nothing negative in it.

In simple sense, it’s a positive statement. The word affirmation comes from the Latin word ‘Affirmare’ that is, ‘To Affirm’- means, the action of affirming, to allow something positive.

Words have always been known to hold power in them.

It is known from ancient times that ‘Words have their own vibration “. Most religions have the practice of reciting words, together in certain numbers of times in the form of Mantras, Tasbeeh or Rosary.

The purpose behind it is to raise vibrations and bring in positivity. Affirmations are in similar lines to that of mantras (Mann = mind/Antara = inside).

Positive suggestions from gurus, teachers, doctors, and priests have always been known to influence the individual psyche and thereby their response to situations in life.

Based on these observations, around the later part of the eighteenth-century French Pharmacist and Psychologist Emile Couve came up with the idea of “auto suggestion’ and found it of great benefit in the emotional, mental as well as physical development of the individual.

“Every day in every way, I am getting better and better!” was one of his prescription suggestions to all his patients which is even popular till date as a golden mantra for holistic enhancement in daily life.

Louise Hay in the twentieth century, a pioneer in consciousness and metaphysic with her best-seller book “You can Heal your life” raised the scale for using affirmations in daily life including for physical ailments at an altogether different level. Can I See My Past Life?

 It totally depends on the way a person perceived that experience in the past. Every experience is received through the senses and filtered through their perception, of how it has impacted them in the past. 

An experience can be felt through your five senses – how and what you see, you hear, you feel and as well as, how you smell and taste.

Many times at the start of regression work, the person feels overwhelmed by emotions and the visual inputs start to flow as most experiences are stored as visual images associated with emotions and feelings generated in the personal space of the client. 

 One of the commonest ways that people regress is through thoughts, emotions, feelings and sensations in the body which eventually evokes visual images that can be seen as an experience that they lived in the past and carries an impact on their psyche even in the present.

 However, it is just not restricted or limited to viewing images. Images would come eventually depending on the propensity of how much you are able to capture the content of that experience,  how it impacted you, and how you have interpreted it.  When taking you through the regression work, what we attempt to bring out is ‘that experience’ that your mind has stored and it influences how you are able to recall that stored memory.  

So the way it is stored is the way it can be retrieved.

There are cases, where people have regressed through the olfactory way, as peculiar smell took them back to the past in that specific experience, so it started with the smell, not with the visual and then the feelings that evoked images in the regression.

 Sometimes they can’t see anything in the past life experience because they were blind or blindfolded or were in a dark place and couldn’t see much or it could be a situation, where it was overwhelming that they passed out unconscious and unable to see things and situations around.

Paying homage to ancestors is since the times of primitive men.

As human civilization grew different religions laid down some rules and conditions for better living individually and collectively.

In spiritual parlance, it is akin to reverence and praying for the peace of ancestors, it is recognised as Ancestral healing  by spiritual modality practitioners

It is more of a misnomer when we say ancestral healing…
As it is more of self-healing that is attained through the practices undertaken for the peace and reverence to ancestors…

The reason being technically speaking ancestors who are in the spirit are more so gone and on another side…wouldn’t require any healing.
It is their unfinished business, unfulfillment, longing and attachment to those in their family in the here and now that keeps the transmission of the same that shows up as repetitive patterns that run through families.

These repetitive patterns could be restrictive and sabotaging at the level of health, relationships, and financial blocks, thereby practices done with awareness connects the doer and his/her family to bring peace with their ancestors i.e spirit world, as much as to the present and future generations.

There is a dilemma if these rituals have any scientific basis:
This gets explained through the science of epigenetics and how we respond to our generic inheritance of attributes, beliefs and behaviour patterns.
The fact that each of us carries traits attributed to beliefs and thought patterns in our DNA which are passed down to us through our ancestors …just as we too pass on further to future generations.

What we feel and believe about what we carry as our traits activates the corresponding gene to either impact us in a large way or remain dormant and insignificant.

Hence when there are deeply embedded stuck in patterns in our different aspects of life getting conscious of what we carry from ancestors is the doorway to go beyond. what we are genetically wired

Medicines are prepared in different strengths of dilution where the medicinal essence is restored. The substance from which medicine is made loses its color, taste, and smell. Thus, all medicines look alike, but each is different internally and has the potential to treat all kinds of Diseases.

 

MYTH: Dietary restrictions like onion, garlic, and coffee are necessary during the treatment.

FACT: Not required! Medicines act through nerve endings on the tongue. Hence, it is advisable to take the medicine on a clean tongue. Any kind of stimulants like tobacco, mint, pan, betel nut, or any drug should be avoided 10-15 minutes before and after the Medicine as a precautionary measure.

 

MYTH: Patent (readymade medicines available by names of diseases) medicines available over the counter for conditions like high blood pressure, cough, piles, warts, etc. are effective.

FACT: Such medicines are not prescribed on the ‘Principles’ of Homeopathy. They are shortcuts adopted as an Alternative to Allopathic medicines in order to avoid their side effects. However, they may cause much more Devastating effect not known to the patients.
Homeopathic medicines are prescribed on the totality of symptoms presented by the individual suffering from the ailment.

 

A homeopathic physician practicing Classical Homeopathy approach will take into account a detailed history of the individual after a diligent study prescribes homeopathic medicines on indicative totality of the disease presentation.

 

 

 

MYTH: Homeopathic medicines can mitigate deficiencies of minerals like calcium,

iron etc. They can restore oxygen supply in those with low oxygen levels.

FACT: Deficiency of any mineral can be addressed by prescribing supplements to the ailing person along with Homeopathic medicines.

Vitamins and minerals are considered as supplements to substitute the lack of nutrient, which may depress the immune system, hence slowing the recovery. Supplements are neither Homeopathic nor Allopathic.

 

MYTH: Homeopathy is slow acting and Allopathy is fast acting in treatment
FACT: The Major Difference between Homeopathy and Allopathy (Modern medicine) is the Principal basis on which medicines are prescribed.

Homeopathy works on Law of Similar prescribing on symptom similarity and thereby works in alignment with the natural immune response of the the body.
Allopathy works on the symptomatic line of treatment; its underlying principle is to counteract the symptoms by Law of Contraris, which counteracts the immune system in many conditions in the long run.

Sir Samuel Hahneman – Founder of Homeopathy.

Homeopathy – science of medicine most misunderstood & understated!
I am practitioner of mind body medicine incorporating alternative drug less therapies likes of hypnotherapy , transpersonal regression therapy, access bars, family constellation.

However I take pleasure and privilege in introducing myself as Homeopathic physician.

My brush with medical world began with my fundamental understanding in health and medical treatment through enlightening book that has been part of our curriculum : Organon of Medicine by Sir Samuel Hahneman – Founder of Homeopathy.

He is genius, keen observer, true physician in spirit who paved the path of holistic healing and health in society with a scientific spirit and zealous inquiry in integrity.
Today 10th  April is his birth anniversary and celebrated as World Homeopathy Day.

I salute him and bow to his spirit for opening a new paradigm in the medical world.

Though he and his followers are called as Homeopath… I perceive it is a label given to him and judge him separating him from mainstream.of medical fraternity.
He Dared to be wise and paid the price ..while he was outcasted from medical fraternity who only believe in fixing diseases and going far away from true practitioner of healing art!

Today I am truly grateful that I fell short of few marks to gain entry to conventional MBBS business medical fraternity .
Had it been not Homeopathy I may have deprived or may be taken much long to truly comprehend the nuances of true practitioner of healing art …
Just sharing One of the many precious gems that I cherish is physician heal thyself and being unprejudiced observer.
Practicing this simple yet powerful teaching all my life has enabled and equipped me to sail through my life with immense gratitude for everything . ?
